El porte\u00f1o hab\u00eda llegado a esta instancia despu\u00e9s de protagonizar una gran remontada frente al estadounidense Taylor Fritz, al que venci\u00f3 en cinco sets tras estar dos mangas abajo.<br>Cer\u00fandolo no pudo repetir aquella remontada y termin\u00f3 chocando con un Blockx que mostr\u00f3 personalidad en los momentos decisivos. El belga se qued\u00f3 con los dos \u00faltimos sets por 7-5 y consigui\u00f3 as\u00ed el triunfo m\u00e1s importante de su carrera, avanzando por primera vez a los cuartos de final de un Grand Slam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcb900\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Antes, Tom\u00e1s Mart\u00edn Etcheverry<\/mark><\/strong> tambi\u00e9n hab\u00eda quedado eliminado en la cuarta ronda. <strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcb900\" class=\"has-inline-color\">El platense perdi\u00f3 ante el estadounidense Alex Michelsen por 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 y 6-4<\/mark><\/strong>, en 2 horas y 46 minutos de partido.
